  2. Cater to your client(s). This comes with knowing your brand and knowing what your customers want. You want to put on an event that your clients WANT to come to. One that they are going to want to come back to and one that they’ll talk to their friends about. So when it comes to planning the event always have your client in mind, what would engage them, what would they think is awesome about the event?
  3. Pick the right team to plan it. Putting together the right group of people to get the event up and running smoothly is key. People that are professionals and experts in the field are important to making the event the best it can be.
  4. Stick to a budget. This can also be put into the realm of making sure you have thought of EVERY thing you might need. There will be a lot of additional fees involved such as labor costs, bartending fees, power, etc. The more you can prepare for those fees the better off you are. It’s smart to put your foot down when it comes to the extra things you don’t actually need. So make sure you sit down with someone who has done an event similar to what you want to do in order to get the best idea of what your budget should look like.
  5. Prepare. This one seems really obvious but it is so important to start planning your event as far in advance as possible. Venues, especially for bigger events, book up fast so getting your event planned early allows you to get each thing that you need for your event and it will give you more time for any issues that might come up a lot the way. This gives you a chance to get out invitations through various forms as well, such as snail mail so you can do a much more personal invite.
